The number of celebrities and athletes doing Bikram Yoga keeps growing, with Tom Cruise’s ex and a pro football player among the latest hot-room devotees.

Goldie Drum Bass Bikram YogaGoldie

This British drum-and-bass musician isn’t keeping quiet about the fact that Bikram Yoga (five days a week) has saved his life. Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Goldie said, “I started three years ago. I had a really bad [water-skiing] accident and I nearly lost my leg … I was in the hospital for about four months. I had just had a divorce and I was really down and out. My friend said, ‘Why don’t you try Bikram Yoga?’ So I got into Bikram … I’ve been doing it for three years, and I’ve probably done like … 75 studios around the world. Everywhere I go I have to make sure there’s a Bikram studio close by. It’s a healthy addiction: total peace of mind, total focus. But I think the byproducts … are the physical attributes. But the mental … I’m so focused now in terms of work. There’s so much happening that I feel like I’m 18 again and knocking them out of the park. I really put that down to yoga – I really do.”

Though she’s admitted to keeping fit by working up a sweat with Bikram Yoga, the former Dawson’s Creek actress isn’t a big fan of some of the fashion statements that are made in the hot room: “I love Bikram yoga. I like the sweat. I feel like it’s good for me and good for my skin. I just don’t like the guys who wear those little tiny hot yoga shorts. Why don’t they have a sign? It’s not OK!”

This 39-year-old Sports Illustrated model, who gained 65 pounds while pregnant with her first child in 2012, says she’s lost nearly all of her baby weight (just 10 pounds to go) thanks in part to a “no-salt, no-oil, protein-heavy diet” and several Bikram Yoga classes a week.

With the weight of his football career resting on his body, L.P. LaDouceur of the Dallas Cowboys is constantly looking for ways to improve his performance: “I try to incorporate things during the season, or in the offseason, where it can help muscle strains, lunges – just anything that can help. It’s kind of weird but I do Bikram Yoga. That is the best thing I could have ever started doing, about two-and-a-half years ago. It’s hot yoga but it’s not hot yoga. It’s Bikram Yoga, which is even hotter than hot yoga. An hour-and-a-half, 26 poses and stretches and, I’m telling you, you don’t have to work out. You just go to [class] three or four times a week. It’s a grind.”
