Migraine Headaches

Migraine Headaches
Everyone at some point experiences a headache, but some unfortunate few like Emma*, experience Migraine Headaches. Migraine headaches affect approximately 15% of the population, and typically last anywhere from 4 – 72 hours, they are often severe and incapacitating.

Emma was attending school and she also practiced Dance.  She had been experiencing migraines about once a week, for 6 years, and was getting chiropractic care.  Once a migraine came on, Emma was unable to do anything at all due to the level of pain.  She began getting tremors and could not sleep, she also suffered post-headaches that would make it difficult for her to engage in any activities that involved her lowering her head below her heart, which made her dancing very difficult.

Her mother took Emma to Bikram Yoga, she enjoyed it so much that she became a dedicated student, practicing 5 times every week.
Emma no longer suffers from migraines.  She also says she is more flexible, is much stronger and psychologically feels calmer and is better at coping with stress.

Q. What would you like to tell people who are feeling hesitant about trying the yoga?

A. “There is nothing better that you can do. You come in hopes of changing your body and end up changing your mind, spirit & life.”
