Bikram Yoga Posture Clinic with Lisa Pelzer

Starting on Saturday, March 2, BYV will be hosting a series of posture clinics with Lisa Pelzer at our Kitsilano studio. These clinics, which have been a huge success in the past, will give you the opportunity to really perfect your practice in a very intimate group setting. We will only be taking a maximum of eight students per class, giving you the chance to work one-on-one with one of the most talented and well-seasoned Bikram Yoga instructors in the business.

Being able to spend 60 minutes in the hot room with Lisa will not only allow you the time to “pick her brain” in an intimate setting, but also enable you the freedom to work on only the postures that you want to work on! Looking to get deeper in Standing Head to Knee Pose? Wanting to perfect your locked knee? Worried about an old injury that you feel has been holding you back? Posture clinics are about YOU, your questions and your practice!

This unique opportunity will also connect you with the spectacular BYV community that we are so proud of, because as most of us know, coming to yoga isn’t always about getting hot and sweaty, it’s also about being surrounded by a fantastic group of like-minded individuals!

  2. You could definitely see your enthusiasm in the work you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. At all times go after your heart. “The point of quotations is that one can use another’s words to be insulting.” by Amanda Cross.

  3. I have recently started a site, the info you provide on this website has helped me tremendously. Thanks for all of your time & work. “It is a great thing to know our vices.” by Cicero.

This sounds awesome! Just have a couple questions:
    1. Is this class geared towards advanced students only? Can you sign up if you’re still only on part one of Standing Head to Knee for example?
    2. What is the class format like? Is everyone working on different postures at once or do you run through the whole series and stop to discuss/get pointers on certain postures? Or is each class dedicated to one posture only?
    Thanks for your time!!

      Hey TD,

Good questions! We will have to clear it up in the post.

1.) This class is geared to everyone! I’ve been doing this practice on and off for 15 years and I’m still barely out of part 1 of standing head to knee!
2.) Unless the class wants to go a different direction, Lisa will usually work on 5+ postures, usually the trickiest ones for people – Half Moon, Standing Head to Knee, Standing Bow, Triangle. She will use the wall or a chair to help show proper alignment and it will give you a much better sense of where your body should be at and what proper alignment feels like. She might also share with you some postures or work that you can do outside the yoga room as well. The nice thing is that if a group just wants to spend time doing one posture they can, but there is always time for more.

This session is already full, but let us know if you want to go on the waiting list for the next one. The successful response of this first posture clinic means that we will be planning more for sure!
